Happy 3 Week Birthday, Natalie Kay!

Precious little girl! Can you really be a three-week-old already?

We are grateful to Aunt Cristina for sharing with us the "no more crying fit ball trick!"

Saturday afternoon snooze after a trip to the Gardens where big brother got to go on an Easter egg hunt!

1st family portrait

Meemaw gave Cal his very first wishing well experience. After throwing in the first penny, Calvin turned to Meemaw and said, "More!" Poor Meemaw ran out of pennies.

Our little Easter egg hunter inspecting his loot.

This is Calvin's way of appeasing me by stopping to "Cheese!" for a picture.

Calvin reflecting on the true meaning of Easter

The Moores are thankful for Meemaw and Mac's membership to the Missouri Botanical Gardens!

After finding 14 eggs, Cal was stopped by the Garden's "10 egg maximum" policy and had to return 4 - Cal's first exposure to our redistribution of wealth society...

While Calvin refused to pet the live bunnies, he didn't mind sitting on this one's lap.

Nellie finally meets Uncle Max and Uncle Telly!

Natalie's 1st Two Weeks...

Sleeping Beauty

Natalie loves her black and white book!

Calvin and Mommy time at the playground

Doesn't she look like Travis?!?!

Diaper time!

Nonno and Natalie

Cal always likes to keep his Nellie company.

Especially when she is all alone with Travis or me!

Sweet big brother loves giving Eskimo kisses.

But he hates getting interrupted by Mama's constant picture taking!

Calvin was glad to test out Natalie's new baby carrier!

January-March 8th: Waiting for Natalie Kay...

I know we've been stingy with pictures of Natalie, but my camera and computer are not cooperating. To tide you over until I get it figured out, here's the missing post that covers what we did to keep busy while we waited for Natalie to come...

Lots of "fishy" treatments to tame Cal's RSV, which he got a week before my due date!

A trip to Whittle to play with the choo choos

A little potty training

Any day over 35 degrees and we were at the playground.

There were the almost weekly trips to Costco where Travis could put Calvin on displays like this.
Maybe a little time was spent watching "Cars."

We even took our first trip to Art Hill to watch the sledders. The 10 degree weather allowed for one picture to be taken before we were back to watching from the car.

Cal even got to go to the City Museum.

The fire truck was by far the highlight.

The creepy train ride was not!

One thing we didn't do much of was take many pregnancy pictures.
This is one of about three. Sorry Natalie!

Cal and Dada found many ways to entertain me and take my mind off the 40 week wait!

Cool Cal sporting Dada's jacket on an outing to the Science Center.

And of course there were the weekly trips to the Magic House.

Welcome Natalie Kay

Natalie Kay was born Monday March 8th at 11:19pm.

8 pounds even! I know, I put 8lbs 3oz on Facebook, but that's what her brother weighed and it was also 4 in the morning.

Here we are about an hour after Natalie's birth.

First 24 hours...

The Big Meeting...
After lots of RSV kisses, Cal decided to show Natalie his tummy.
Or maybe he was figuring out that Natalie was out of mine?

First few days at home...

For those interested in the details- I went into labor around 4pm on Monday. We went to the hospital at 8 and had Natalie 3 hours later. Natalie is especially precious. Her expressions and noises have officially stolen our hearts. We love to watch her sleep, eat, stick her tongue out all the time...
Though Cal's been a little on the grumpy side, he's adjusted well. He LOVES giving Sissy butterfly kisses. Every time he wakes up, he demands to see Sissy. Speaking of which, the night we got home from the hospital Cal went to sleep in his crib as usual but woke up crying an hour later. Travis went to check on him to find all the blankets were thrown into his "big boy bed." The big boy bed has been adjacent to his crib since Christmas, but Calvin has refused to sleep in it. Travis said, "Calvin, do you want to sleep in your big boy bed?" "Uh huh!" was the answer and Cal has slept in there ever since!
While in the hospital, Mike Kennison, a pastor from our church, visited us and read us Psalm 127. We were very encouraged by it and found it fitting to post.

Unless the Lord builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the watchman stays awake in vain.
2 It is in vain that you rise up early
and go late to rest,
eating the bread of anxious toil;
for he gives to his beloved sleep.

3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
the fruit of the womb a reward.
4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
are the children of one's youth.
5 Blessed is the man
who fills his quiver with them!
He shall not be put to shame
when he speaks with his enemies in the gate
