Welcome Natalie Kay

Natalie Kay was born Monday March 8th at 11:19pm.

8 pounds even! I know, I put 8lbs 3oz on Facebook, but that's what her brother weighed and it was also 4 in the morning.

Here we are about an hour after Natalie's birth.

First 24 hours...

The Big Meeting...
After lots of RSV kisses, Cal decided to show Natalie his tummy.
Or maybe he was figuring out that Natalie was out of mine?

First few days at home...

For those interested in the details- I went into labor around 4pm on Monday. We went to the hospital at 8 and had Natalie 3 hours later. Natalie is especially precious. Her expressions and noises have officially stolen our hearts. We love to watch her sleep, eat, stick her tongue out all the time...
Though Cal's been a little on the grumpy side, he's adjusted well. He LOVES giving Sissy butterfly kisses. Every time he wakes up, he demands to see Sissy. Speaking of which, the night we got home from the hospital Cal went to sleep in his crib as usual but woke up crying an hour later. Travis went to check on him to find all the blankets were thrown into his "big boy bed." The big boy bed has been adjacent to his crib since Christmas, but Calvin has refused to sleep in it. Travis said, "Calvin, do you want to sleep in your big boy bed?" "Uh huh!" was the answer and Cal has slept in there ever since!
While in the hospital, Mike Kennison, a pastor from our church, visited us and read us Psalm 127. We were very encouraged by it and found it fitting to post.

Unless the Lord builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the watchman stays awake in vain.
2 It is in vain that you rise up early
and go late to rest,
eating the bread of anxious toil;
for he gives to his beloved sleep.

3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
the fruit of the womb a reward.
4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
are the children of one's youth.
5 Blessed is the man
who fills his quiver with them!
He shall not be put to shame
when he speaks with his enemies in the gate

Congratulations Travis, Ariana, and Cal! Natalie is precious! I particularly love the picture of Cal showing her his belly. That was hilarious! I can't wait to meet her!
